Down and Out

Well now

What a stunning mess,

But in this instance it would seem

That you’ve not passed the test.

What more could you expect

Than to ring in second best

When you’ve gone and constantly

Got yourself tangled in life’s mesh.

Next

It’s not unheard of

To carve charged words

Bitterly, solemnly to flesh.

The future in which looms

Reduced to angry, dusty doom.

For now I say lie down, reflect

Seek rest.
